Robert "Bobby" Harrison Obituary
Robert Franklin Harrison, known to all as Bobby, age 79, of Suwanee, GA, passed away peacefully on March 10th, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Ruth Harrison and his sister Jean Wheeler.
Bobby is survived by his wife: Janice Taylor Harrison, his daughters: Laurel Harrison of Cumming, GA, Kristin (Lady) Piraquive of Cumming, GA and Melissa Johnston of Alpharetta, GA, his grandchildren: Noa Geyne Harrison, Alex Johnston, Grace Johnston, Cole Johnston, Jett Johnston, Olivia Piraquive, Madison Piraquive, Lily Piraquive, his nephews: Troy Wheeler (Cheryl), Kenny Wheeler (LaDonna) and his nieces: Mary Wheeler, Shannon Hensley (Charles), Thomas Phillips and his fur child: Lulu.
He was a native of Atlanta, a graduate of North Fulton High School a member of the Buckhead Boys Club and graduated from St. Pete Junior College with a degree in Liberal Arts.
Following college, he went on to join the US Navy where he was stationed in Brunswick, ME. Later, he followed in his father’s footsteps and built a successful career in the construction equipment business, starting a company with a friend Fuller Grissom (Ralph) and eventually retired from Yancey Brothers after over 25 years of service.
Bobby joined East Lake Country Club as a junior member and continued his membership at the Atlanta Athletic Club for over 50 years. While he enjoyed countless rounds of golf and played ALTA, he built many meaningful relationships and made lifelong friends.
He was an active member of Johns Creek Baptist Church. He was an avid gun lover and enjoyed bird hunting in South Georgia and South Dakota. He loved the water and spent many years fishing and boating on Lake Lanier.
He had a passion for motorcycles and in 2003, he rode from Atlanta to Milwaukee for the Harley Davidson 100th Year Anniversary with his nephew, Kenny, brother-in-law, Ed and good friend Tim Griffin.
Bobby was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He never met a stranger and always had a joke to tell. He was loved by everyone and will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at McDonald and Son Funeral Home from 12:00 pm until the service time at 2:00 pm.
